The only contest between the major parties is for the supervisor and clerk positions. Resident Brigitte McAuliffe is running for one of two town board seats under her own party and is opposed by incumbents. 

The Rensselaerville 2021 election centers around five seats, but the local Democrats have put forth only two candidates — the same as those endorsed by the town’s other parties.

Still without a dog control officer after Jodi Jansen resigned on short notice in April, the Berne Town Board is weighing options to reform the position, all while the popular former DCO Cheryl Baitsholts languishes as a candidate. 

SCHOHARIE COUNTY — Todd N. Rolfe, of Murphy Road in the town of Wright, died Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Albany Medical Center after a long decline in health. He was 65.

He was born on June 7, 1956 in Cooperstown, New York, a son of Fritz and Irene (née Settle) Rolfe.
