A town like Knox, with a population under 5,000 has up to 60 days after the close of its fiscal year to file its AUD. Knox, however, is several years behind in filing its AUDs. 

Blanche L. Tubbs

KNOX  — Blanche L. Tubbs, who worked hard to take care of her family, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024. She was 95.

She was born on April 28, 1929, the daughter of the late Elmer and Goldie Taber Finch. For 50 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Tubbs.

RENSSELAERVILLE — John Martin “Jack” Kudlack Jr., who served as an Army medic in Vietnam and then worked as a nurse and police officer, always helped other people.

He died on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024.

The vagaries of New York State’s ability and willingness to involve itself in local affairs cropped up in many Enterprise stories this year, and revealed the gaps in the patchwork system of agencies that are supposed to keep the machine running. 

Holiday fires in R’ville part of a larger trend

The $830,000 entrusted to the town of Rensselaerville two years ago has been tied up in red tape ever since, but an attorney for the town recently announced that the town has been granted a cy prés to move the funds to another trustee, which he said was the “major hurdle” in the ordeal.  

Carmella Reno

WESTERLO – Carmella “Camille” Reno, who loved traveling and being with her family, died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 28, 1936 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Peter and Mary Puelo Cavalcante.
