Over the last 75 years there have been a number of fictional super heroes who have possessed “super speed”. The Flash, as this speedster is known, has the ability to run and move extremely fast, use superhuman reflexes, and seemingly violate certain laws of physics.

The Guilderland basketball team is off to a hot start with no losses.

On Nov.18, Troop 79 out of Berne held a Court of Honor.  Eighty-two merit badges were earned as well as five rank advancements.  Liam Hanley earned Life Scout, Jake Valachovic and Devin Longendyke earned Star Scout, and Ben Boone earned both his Tenderfoot rank and Second Class

At the December meeting of the Fort Orange Garden Club, the Master Gardeners of Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County were presented with a commendation for civic improvement from the Garden Club of America.

New York’s #CombatHeroin campaign has reached more than 14 million people through social media so far, according to a release from the governor’s office, and the next phase, which started Dec. 19, has announcements airing in movie theaters state-wide.

What a difference a year makes. Last year, as I made a celebratory holiday dinner at my home for my staff, I received a call that changed my life. My dental practice was on fire and, as I raced to the office from my home, I could see the sky lit with flames shooting from the roof.

The Guilderland School Board met last week to discuss the results of a summit held a month earlier.  Board members spent considerable time interpreting the record sheets of ideas garnered from summit volunteers who provided solutions for the revenue shortages experienced by the school in the last several years.

As 2014 unwinds, we begin to look to a new year.  But, before we end this one, here are some things Community Caregivers is grateful for:
