ALTAMONT — Boy Scouts in Altamont’s Troop 264 do many things to better their Scout skills and apply them to help the people in the village.

Over the course of the last month, the troop has worked on an Eagle Scout project, building a fellowship area for the American Legion.

Getting off on the right foot is key for the girls on Guilderland’s tennis and volleyball teams as they strive to get good seeds for sectional play in the coming weeks of the fall season. On Friday, both teams were in action.

This past weekend at the Altamont Fairgrounds held the over 70th annual Capital District Scottish Games.

Inferno Pizzeria

Guilderland may soon get its first roundabout. The state’s Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing at Pine Bush Elementary School on Sept. 24 about installing a roundabout at Carman Road and Lydius Street. The old Nedco Pharmacy would be demolished.

School Road

The bridge on School Road, between Route 146 and Guilderland High School, opened on Aug. 30.

The Altamont Board of Trustees asked the court that the case brought against it by a group of residents be dismissed. 

Guilderland girls — five of them — have their own golf team for the first time this year since Section 2 of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association has recognized girls’ golf as a sport.

On Saturday morning, the Hilltown triple crown ended up with the conclusion of the Altamont 5K on the roads of Altamont ended up at Bozenkill Park.
