Photos: Birds Fly to Victory
The Voorheesville boys and girls opened Class C sectional soccer play on the right foot last week. The boys, the top seed, faced off against Schoharie on Saturday in the quarterfinals while the girls, seeded second, played Berne-Knox-Westerlo, the 18th seed, on Friday afternoon. Both Voorheesville teams were victorious. The boys won, 2 to 1, then won again, 7 to 0, on Wednesday evening in the semifinals to advance in the Class C championship on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Colonie High School. The Voorheesville girls won, 13 to 0, against BKW. On Tuesday, they won again, 4 to 0, against Bolton/Warrensburg to move on to play Monday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Mechanicville in the semifinals.
