After convincing opening-round sectional wins, both the Guilderland and Voorheesville boys’ soccer teams played well but couldn’t muster a score in their quarterfinal losses.

Ford scored both goals for the Dutch in the win but the Dutch fell, 1 to 0, to Shen last Saturday in the quarterfinals.

The Voorheesville Blackbirds won against Coxsackie-Athens last Wednesday, 4 to 1. On Saturday, the Blackbirds traveled to Schalmont for the Class B quarterfinals. Losing his footing Blackbirds’ Jacob Dykstra falls near goal in front of the goalie and defender in the first half of Saturday’s game against the Sabres. The Blackbirds came close to tying the game in the second half but the shot rang off the post, and the Blackbirds lost, 2 to 0.
