Guilderland boys soccer

On Friday, Oct. 3, the Guilderland Dutchmen boys’ soccer squad had a non-league game against Broadalbin-Perth at home. The Dutch started off quick by scoring two goals in 2 minutes and 14 seconds and held on winning 5-0.

On Tuesday evening, Nov. 5, the Guilderland Dutchmen soccer team faced off against top seed Shaker in the Class AAA championship game at Bethlehem High School. The Dutch trailed at halftime but rallied to tie but Shaker’s talented squad netted two more as the Dutch fell, 3 to 1.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, the second seeded Guilderland boys’ soccer team battled the sixth seeded Albany in the Section 2, Class AAA sectional semifinal at LaSalle Institute in Troy.

On Tuesday, Oct. 1, the Guilderland boys’ soccer team battled against top-seed Shaker in a midseason Suburban Council matchup at home. The Dutch scored 49 seconds in and had to fend off a hard charging Shaker team in the second half to hold on to a 1-0 win.

On Sunday, Nov. 12, the Guilderland boys’ soccer team competed in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class AA Championship at Middletown High School. The Dutch battled till the final whistle but fell, 4 to 2.

On Monday, Oct. 30, the third-seeded Guilderland boys’ soccer team looked to end a 10-year championship drought as they faced off against fourth-seeded Niskayuna at Queensbury High School in the Section 2, Class AA championship. The Dutch struck early and ended that drought by winning 5-0.

Last Thursday, Oct. 19, the Guilderland boys’ soccer team hosted a quarterfinal matchup in the Section 2, Class AA sectionals at home. The Dutch started quickly and didn’t take their foot off the gas all game long. Guilderland advances with a 4-to-0 win.

On Tuesday, Oct. 3, the Guilderland boys’ soccer team hosted Saratoga under the lights on the turf field at home. The Dutch battled hard to break through Saratoga’s defense but fell, 3 to 2.

On Friday, Oct. 27, the fourth-seeded Guilderland boys’ soccer team went to battle against the top-seeded in Section 2, Class AA in Saratoga. Guilderland held them close at half but then Saratoga took control to win 4 to 0.

On a windy afternoon, Sept. 22, the Guilderland boys’ soccer team hosted Christian Brothers Academy. The game went back and forth in the first half, but after halftime, the Dutch scored five unanswered goals to pull away and beat the Brothers, 6 to 1.
