It was a battle for the Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team last Saturday afternoon at Suffern Middle School against North Rockland from Section One. Guilderland had a late push in the second half, but the eight-goal difference after the first half was too much for the Dutch, who fell 13-10.

The North Rockland defense was the story of the first half. Here, Guilderland’s Amanda Nieman attempts to spin away from the defender as Nieman runs towards the goal. Nieman had one goal in the game. The Dutch were held to two goals in the first half.

Guilderland’s defense stepped up their intensity in an effort to send the game into overtime. Dutch’s Christine Fish, top left, looks to pass to her teammate Kerry Gerety in the second half.
