Full Moon Hike. 6:30 to 8 p.m. Enjoy the Pine Bush at night with an hour-long hike under the “hunter’s moon.” We will plan to hike 0.9 miles over rolling topography stopping intermittently for night vision and sound observations. Berne’s playground. Celebrating the official opening of the new playground equipment at Berne’s town park, 4 p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place followed by a simple cookout. Emma Detlefsen of Emma’s Incredibles, will host a lemonade stand and bake sale starting at 3:30 p.m.
Thacher State Park will host a Fall Festival 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. New Thacher Visitor Center. Participants can take a scenic hayride, see live wildlife, try their hand at archery, and hear live music by Oobleck, Nite Train, and the Knox Traditional Strings. Children’s activities include crafts, face painting, a climbing wall, and old-fashioned toys and games.
