Veteran’s Day Ceremony to Be Offered at Bennington Battlefield. Walloomsac, NY - Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site will host a Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m. Local scouts will retrieve the site’s flag for the 2017 season, a historical account of the battle will be shared and refreshments offered.

Lois Lowry, Newbery Medal winner and author of more than 30 books, will visit the University at Albany for an evening of conversation with WAMC's Joe Donahue as part of the University's "The Creative Life" series at 7 p.m. Friday, November 10, at Page Hall, 135 Western Avenue on UAlbany's Downtown campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The NYS Writers Institute will present  "A Celebration of The New Yorker Cartoons" featuring Roz Chast and Bob Mankoff at 8 p.m. in the Huxley Theatre, NYS Museum, Cultural Education Center, in Albany. Earlier that same day at 4:15 p.m., Chast and Mankoff will offer an informal seminar in the Standish Room, Science Library on the UAlbany uptown campus.
