Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Officially Launches Makerspace. The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce is hosting the ribbon cutting at Bethlehem Public Library, 451 Delaware Avenue in Delmar at 11 am.

Brooke Kroeger, a journalist who teaches at New York University, will discuss her book, “Suffragents: How Women Used Men to Get The Vote,” from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Public Library, which is hosting the talk with the League of Women Voters of Albany County. The library is in Delmar at 451 Delaware Ave.

Author Reading at Rensselaerville. Local Author, Paula C. Scardamalia, will read from her new book In the Land of Vultures on March 16, 12 pm at the Rensselaerville Library. Copies of the book for purchase and signing will be available.

Indie Publishing on Friday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Berne Public Library. Learn how to independently publish a book from the experiences of two local authors: MaryJo Mckeon and Kathy Hill Brown.

Gail Sacco will be retiring October 26 from the Voorheesville Public Library after serving 30 years as its director. We will be having a community potluck party at the Wallace Town Park on Swift Road, on Sept. 30 from 1 to 6 pm, to honor her service.
 

Let’s Depolarize America! Better Angels is a bipartisan citizen’s movement to unify our divided nation. Berne Public Library at 6:30 p.m.: Talk and book signing by Candace Christiansen, author of the beautifully illustrated children’s book Calico and Tin Horns, a view of the Anti-Rent War through the eyes of a young girl.

Guilderland Elementary School is hosting a community garage sale and used book sale 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  To raise money for the Anthony and Eddy Chen Memorial Scholarship. In addition, the library will be hosting an 11th annual Used Book Sale, with books and AV for the whole family.  2225 Western Ave., around the back of the building in the big gym.
