A French Toast Breakfast will be hosted by the Gallupville Fire Department Auxiliary at the Gallupville firehouse on Saturday, Jan. 13, from 7:30 to 11 a.m. The menu includes French toast, eggs, home fries, sausage, coffee, tea, milk, and juice. The cost is covered by donation.

Westerlo Fire Breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Modern Woodman’s Hall at 980 Route 401 in Westerlo. The menu items include breakfast sandwiches, eggs, pancakes, hash browns, fruit, cereal, and more. Call (518) 797-3621 the morning of.

A panel of top state journalists will assess the stories that made news in New York in 2017 and look ahead to 2018 during a luncheon sponsored by the Women’s Press Club of New York State, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Il Faro Restaurant in Albany. The event is open to the public and costs $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Reservations are required and include a choice of chicken or vegetarian lunch. Online ticket sales are available through noon on Monday, Jan. 8.

The Special Feature this month is a dietitian from Ellis Hospital will give tips on keeping ourselves healthy through the winter.  Speaker Cindy Close from Northville, NY, will be telling us how she overcame some obstacles in her life and found peace. Music will be provided. 

The Westmere Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Brooks BBQ on Sunday, January 7 from noon to 5 p.m. (or until sold out) at the firehouse 1741 Western Avenue, Guilderland. Cost $11.00 for a full dinner which includes half chicken, two sides, cornbread, drink and dessert.  Eat-in or take out.

"EAT & SHOP" IN MEDUSA" - On Dec. 16, it will be the day to have Breakfast and go shopping in Medusa. There will be a Breakfast at the Fire House from 7  to 11 am. All you can eat for a free will offering. The Medusa Church will have their 2nd Holiday Rummage Sale from 8 am to 12 pm. More items will be added to the sale.
