Decoration Day. 6 p.m. at the Old Stone Fort in Schoharie, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will conduct a Decoration Day ceremony first observed in Schoharie County 140 years ago. The public is invited to assist the Sons in ‘strewing with flowers’ the graves of some 35 Union soldiers in the Fort Cemetery.

Vietnam Veterans Remembrance and Recognition Day, sponsored by the Schoharie Promotional Association, in the Village of Schoharie. A service will be held at noon in the Lutheran Cemetery, Cemetery Lane, at the grave of the first of the 11 Schoharie County soldiers who perished in the war. A procession will continue to Lasell Hall on Main Street, where the 1 p.m. program will be held, which will include a special service for 11 who died.

Meet at the Indian Ladder Trailhead behind the Visitor Center
Indian Ladder Trail Guided Walk at Thacher Park. 10 a.m. See underground streams, look for fossils and step inside the crevice cave along the trail. The trail is moderately rugged with stair climbing and a couple of steep slopes. Wear sturdy shoes and meet at the Indian Ladder Trailhead behind the Visitor Center. Walk lasts about 1.5 hours.
