If you participated in the Hug a Tree program, join us afterwards for this guided hike. An extraordinary journey into the Albany Pine Bush – a globally rare, nationally significant and locally distinct inland pine barrens. Our experts will guide you along this 0.9-mile hike over rolling sand dunes where you will discover pine barrens natural history, and observe seasonal surprises and transformations.

Hug a Tree on Saturday, March 2, at 11:00 am. Suitable for ages 6-10, tweens, and their caregivers. Calling all kids!! Would you know what to do if you were outside playing or hiking and became lost? If you’re not sure, this program is for you. Hug a Tree was developed to teach children a few of the most basic and vital survival principles. It was specifically designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12. We will start with an indoor presentation and demonstrations (including a rescue dog!), followed by an outside presentation. There will be a guided hike following the program.

Dress warmly for a day full of free winter activities for the whole family, including ice skating, snowmobiling, face painting, a campfire, hover craft rides, as well as Boy Scout Troop 3357 crafting para cord survivor bracelets. Cross country skis and snowshoes are available to use for the public. Come have some fun this winter.
