With spending up and revenue from elsewhere thought to be down, the Voorheesville Central School District is already anticipating having to ask voters to approve the maximum levy increase allowed by the state for next school year, a 2.72-percent hike.

In Guilderland, the Dunkin’ Donuts in Star Plaza on Route 20 is rarity — a suburban shop without a drive-through. It’s now looking to change that. 

The project now moves to New Scotland’s Planning Board for site-plan approval.

Jonathan Phillips, the owner and president Phillips Hardware, said he thought that the roof began to collapse on the South Main Street barn sometime toward the end of November, and that the massive snowstorm that hit in mid-December “didn’t help,” adding, “That was probably the big factor, all that weight.”

While apartment approvals have been the Guilderland Planning Board’s bailiwick as of late, the board is now looking at approving a 58-lot single-family cluster subdivision near the intersection of Old State and Fuller Station roads 

A whole-building condemnation would ease the regulations, somewhat, related to the demolition of Crounse House. 

The Voorheesville Central School District is still waiting on about $167,000 in state aid that was withheld due to the pandemic.  

The decision to go remote was made after a teacher at Clayton A. Bouton High School in New Scotland tested positive for COVID-19 and contact-tracing revealed that a number of teachers would have to quarantine after coming into contact with their colleague.

Placards notifying the public that the Dutch Mill Acres Townhome application is slated to be heard at an upcoming Guilderland Town Board meeting were posted on Carman Road and Lone Pine Drive, according to an affidavit filed with the town, but no meeting date is listed on the sworn statement.
