BERNE — More than a year after disbanding the Switzkill Farm Board, the Berne town board has created an all-purpose Recreation and Parks Advisory Board, which critics say diminishes the ability of the town to develop the controversial 350-acr

“I just don’t want to wait that long,” one elderly woman with diabetes told The Enterprise when asked about scheduling a traditional appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

A solar proposal, overseen by RIC Energy, is located near where Thompsons Lake Road intersects with Old Stage Road. Workers will spend approximately three months constructing the solar farm beginning this May, according to the developer.

Chance Townsend’s code-enforcement certification was reinstated on Dec. 17, making him eligible for the position.

The order to show cause seeks to hold a permissive referendum on the town’s 2014 purchase of Switzkill Farm and eliminate a conservation easement.
