WESTERLO — James Thomas Croote Sr., a Korean War veteran and the father of four children, died on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Albany Medical Center. He was 90.

 He was born on April 17, 1931 in Guilderland, a son of the late Lawton and Marietta Lambert Croote. He lived most of his life in Westerlo.

EAST BERNE — Lisa Sperry “gained her angel wings at Albany Medical Center” on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, her family wrote in a tribute. She was 55.

Jean M. Wright, a retired kindergarten teacher of 32 years, died on Friday, May 21, 2021. She was 82.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1939 with her twin Janet (Salzer) to Raymond and Alberta Wright. They joined their older sister Ruth Elaine (DeWitt).

Janel M. Schaible

Janel M. Schaible of Rotterdam — whose family says she loved without conditions — died on Monday, May 17, 2021. She was 67.

WESTERLO — Patricia “Trish” Parker Fisher of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Westerlo, “entered into eternal rest at the age of 87 on May 10, 2021, joining her dearly missed husband, Walter M. Fisher Jr., son Robert D. Fisher, and sister Judith Parker Dyndor,” her family wrote in a tribute.

VOORHEESVILLE — Sandra Jean (née Waters) Tesch — known as “Grandma Sandy” to the many children she babysat — “passed into eternal life” on Monday, May 3, 2021, her family wrote in a tribute. She was 80.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Geraldine Morrill Waters.

After 62 years of marriage, Marvin T. “Marv” Dennison and Charlotte S. (née Ferguson) Dennison, both of Rotterdam, died within 36 hours of each other. Both of them were 82.

Mr. Dennison died unexpectedly at home on Monday, May 3, 2021, and Mrs. Dennison died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 4, after battling an illness.

ALTAMONT — Norma Dean of Altamont — a proud mother — died peacefully in her home on Monday, May 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s.

EAST BERNE — Barabara Ann Roney-Genter, of East Berne, died at home on Monday, March 8, 2021, while surrounded by family and her cat Mimi-kins and golden retriever, Missy. She was 89.

WESTERLO — Kathryn Elizabeth Wright of New Salem and Estero, Florida, died Monday, May 3, 2021 at home with her family. She was 85.

“She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt,” her family wrote in a tribute.

I, William E. Loetterle IV, am in a very unique situation to be writing my own obituary. I’m wondering how I will be remembered and in my case, I get to know.

Charles J. Ciaccio

SYRACUSE — Charles Ciaccio was a quiet and kind person, someone who was gracious and intelligent, said his daughter Karen Cornelius. “He was always there for everybody; just a really sweet person.”

Mr. Ciaccio died on April 26, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. He was 95.  

Friedrich Karl-Heinz ‘Fred’ Hennemann

Friedrich Karl-Heinz “Fred” Hennemann — a kind man who loved God and his wife and girls — died after a long illness on Friday, April 30, 2021. He was 86.
