After 62 years of marriage, Marvin T. “Marv” Dennison and Charlotte S. (née Ferguson) Dennison, both of Rotterdam, died within 36 hours of each other. Both of them were 82.

He was also employed by Knapp Service and Nemith Motor Company. Following his retirement, he worked for several years at French’s Hollow Fairway Golf Course.

Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Mrs. Dennison was the daughter of Albert E. and Dorothy (née Shepherd) Ferguson. She attended Guilderland High School and was employed in an administrative position at Bank of America.

The Dennisons spent summers traveling with their family, especially to Salisbury Beach and the Thousand Islands. “Charlotte loved admiring the beauty of lighthouses and the ocean,” their family wrote. “In his younger years, Marv enjoyed drag racing and rebuilding cars. Most recently, you could find him relaxing with his dog, Penny, by his side.

“Charlotte and Marv both cherished family gatherings and never missed an opportunity to gather and celebrate. They were loving parents to their five children and proud grandparents, known affectionately as Meme and Popeye.”
