Senior Day was celebrated by the Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls’ volleyball team on Tuesday. The three seniors were honored prior to the game, which saw the Bulldogs fall to Canajoharie-Fort Plain three sets to none; 9-25, 10-25, 19-25.

Winding down the regular season, the Voorheesville girls — rained out last Thursday — traveled to Cohoes on Sunday to end the regular season with a 3-to-2 overtime victory.

On Monday Oct 21, the students of Farnsworth Middle School participated in the 50th annual Roadrunner race at the school in Guilderland.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Dutch cross-country team traveled to the Crossings of Colonie to face Troy, Saratoga, and Colonie. The boys won against all three; 15 to 50 over Colonie, 25 to 30 over Saratoga, and beat Troy due to the Flying Horses having an incomplete team.

Girls on the Guilderland-Voorheesville swim team, who call themselves the Geese, traveled to Shaker to take on the Blue Bison last Friday afternoon. Shaker doesn’t have a diving board but the girls were still up to the task to beat the Blue Bison, 86 to 79.

On Friday night, Berne-Knox-Westerlo held it's fifth induction class into the BKW's hall of fame.

The Dutch girls’ tennis and field hockey players used their rackets and sticks to get past their opponents last week. The tennis team opened up sectional play on Tuesday afternoon at home as the number-one seed in Class AA and smashed Ballston Spa, 8 to 1.

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls’ soccer team took to the pitch on Tuesday afternoon at home against Mayfield. The Bulldogs had a rough time breaking through the Panthers’ defense and fell, 5 to 0.

On Saturday, Guilderland’s soccer teams held their Senior Day to honor players in their final year of the soccer program. The girls were first up on the pitch, playing against Shaker. The score went back and forth, taking the game into overtime — but ending in a tie: 2 to 2.

On Friday afternoon, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs’ golf team traveled to Dolgeville to face the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves at Hopson Hills Golf Course.
