NEW SCOTLAND — The First United Methodist Church of Voorheesville invites all to a free lunch on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

Online registration is now available for special Capitol suffrage tours celebrating the centennial of women winning the right to vote in New York State and for the annual Capitol Hauntings tours of the New York State Capitol.

KNOX — The Northeastern Cave Conservancy Inc. became the stewards of Knox Cave in 1978 and in that time, thousands of people have been able to enjoy, appreciate, and study this wonderful natural feature and safe and conservation minded stewardship.

RENSSELAERVILLE — Conkling Hall is calling all cooks and bakers for its annual Cook Off on Oct. 7 from noon to 3 p.m.

Pork ’n’ Pie will offer tasty samples of pulled pork and dessert pies from cooks and bakers vying for cash prizes. The entry fee for each category is $15.

GUILDERLAND — Guilderhaven has a very busy fall schedule starting with the Rotary Pet Fair on Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Shaker Heritage Society.

On Sept. 14, residents from across the Capital Region are invited to gather at the Thacher State Park Visitor Center for the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy’s fall fundraiser — 25 Years of Conservation: A Celebration.

“Abhidharma: Buddhist Insights Into Reality,” a one-day teaching session by Khenpo Karma David Choephel will be held at the Albany KTC Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Center on Sunday, Sept. 10.
