To the Editor:

You might be aware that a story appeared in the March 19, 2015, edition of The Altamont Enterprise, titled “Complaints about racial slurs persist at BKW.”

To the Editor:

Betcha didn’t know just how lucky this community is to have two well-founded active veterans’ service organizations.

Betcha didn’t know that thousands of dollars are raised and donated annually by these two local VSOs.

To the Editor:

Thanks to all of the community members who cleared off their bookcases and sorted through their jewelry boxes, the Friends of the Berne Library have the tables at the Berne Senior Center covered with books, DVDs, VHS tapes, audio tapes, puzzles, and jewelry ready for new owners.

To the Editor:

The Helderberg Hilltowns Association would like to thank all those who lent their support last weekend for the Fourth Annual 5k Sap Run.

To the Editor:

Efforts are continuing from a variety of directions to drastically reduce the size of the Albany County Legislature and, with it, the quality, diversity, and competence of the Legislature.

To the Editor:

For every action, there is a reaction. For every reaction, a choice is presented. This letter to the editor is my expressed reaction to the article entitled “Complaints persist about racial slurs at BKW,” written by Marcello Iaia and featured in the Thursday, March 19, 2015 issue of the newspaper.

To the Editor:

This is what I wrote to the members of the Voorheesville Board of Education.

To the Editor:

It has come to my attention over many years that racism follows particular political beliefs and party platforms. The summation of my personal inquiries of people I have met throughout my life leave me with the following conclusions.

To the Editor:

This is addressed to Berne-Knox-Westerlo residents and taxpayers.

The undersigned respectfully request your attendance at the community forum on March 23, at 7 p.m. in the secondary school library to discuss school issues.

To the Editor:

Spring has arrived in the Hilltowns. The red-winged blackbirds are calling, and the sap is running. This Saturday, March 21, marks the fourth annual 5K Sap Run in Knox, coordinated by Helderberg Hilltowns Association. We expect approximately 150 runners of all ages to participate.

To the Editor:

After a month of persistent and crippling snowstorms, I do look forward to spring weather, green grass, and flowers in bloom.
