GUILDERLAND — The school board here is recruiting volunteers to serve on a new task force, "Investigating Alternative Uses of Space: Repurposing Task Force."

WESTERLO — Pioneer Clubs members and leaders at First Baptist Church at 618 Route 143 in Westerlo will celebrate Pioneer Clubs Sunday on Jan.

The American Red Cross encourages eligible blood donors to start a lifesaving habit by becoming a regular blood donor this year, starting with National Blood Donor Month in January.

The Homeless and Travelers Aid Society has called a Code Blue homeless alert through Monday, Jan. 12. Temperatures are predicted to rise above 10 degrees on Tuesday, Jan. 13, with a projected return to Code Blue status on Thursday, Jan. 15. 

St. John’s Lutheran Church at 140 Maple Ave. in Altamont will hold Sunday worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

Pastor Gregory Zaja will give a sermon at the 11 a.m. service titled Chaos into Creation based on Genesis 1:1-5.

ALTAMONT — A joint Lutheran-Reformed worship service on Sunday, Jan. 18, will kickoff Altamont’s observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Altamont Reformed Church, at 129 Lincoln Avenue, will be the host congregation. St. John’s Lutheran Church is the other sponsoring congregation.
