To the Editor:

An art exhibit and sale by members of the Capital Region Textile Artists is being held in the Helderberg Room at the Guilderland Public Library from July 1 through July 31, during library hours.

To the Editor:

I would like to remind town of Knox residents to complete the public survey that was mailed to each household in June.  The response collection period has been extended to July 31.

To the Editor:

On June 24, Altamont Community Tradition celebrated the beginning of summer with its fourth annual Strawberry Social.

The weather was perfect, the strawberry shortcake was delicious, and the games and balloon art delighted the young and the young at heart.

To the Editor:

Since I heard about the Rodino family, I have been fundraising for them. It is what I can do to help.

It is almost Altamont Fair time! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, Aug. 12, to Sunday, Aug. 17.

New this year, “Brigade FMX” will showcase incredible freestyle motocross stunts with multiple shows on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — motorcycles at their best!

To the Editor:

My name is Ahren. I think you should not close Altamont Elementary School because Altamont Elementary School is the perfect place to go. We even raised over $1,000 selling lemonade.

Plus the principal is great. We call him Mr. B. or Mr. Brabant. He is just wonderful.

To the Editor:

Recently, the Helderberg American Legion Post 977 and Ladies’ Auxiliary sponsored a picnic at the post in Altamont for the purpose of installing the officers of both groups for the year 2014-15.

To the Editor:

Superintendent Marie Wiles’s recent letter outlining the process going forward for the school district capacity use study gives pause for serious concern.

The Guilderland School District is lucky that it is not faced with crumbling buildings and calls for educational performance improvement.  The district has performed well academically.

To the Editor:

On June 10, the Guilderland School District released a building capacity report, created by Dr. Paul Seversky. The report was created with the purpose of determining efficiency of space and teacher use in the district.

To the Editor:

“Dr. Chesebro of Knox advertised his pills and salve extensively in The Knowersville Enterprise (to become The Altamont Enterprise in 1888) in the 1880s.”  This, according to the Knox Sesquicentennial History book, published in 1972.

To the Editor:

Now that school is finally over and summer is in full swing, you're probably at a loss deciding what to do with your child's extra school supplies.

To the Editor:

The family of Jean Forti would like to heartily thank all those that made Saturday such a celebration of life. It was a humbling, uplifting, and moving day, and a lot of fun!

A big thank-you to everyone who ran or walked or cut though the park in the morning 5K.
