To the Editor:

If you think education is expensive, try indoctrination.

That’s my twist on a bumper sticker sound bite that I’ve been seeing and hearing less of these days as more and more people seem to be awakening to the government’s latest power grab known as Common Core.

To the Editor:

Last week, I was visiting your village of Altamont in an effort to find a new home for myself and my 4½-year-old daughter. I have always enjoyed driving through for the fairs and occasionally dining at the Home Front Café with a client

To the Editor:

I am a student at Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland. Because of the starting times in Guilderland, many of us can’t fit in school, homework, and sports while going to bed early enough to meet the requirement of nine to 10 hours of sleep.

To the Editor:

An art exhibit and sale by members of the Capital Region Textile Artists is being held in the Helderberg Room at the Guilderland Public Library from July 1 through July 31, during library hours. The exhibition is composed of art quilts.

A group of concerned citizens from all walks of life within the Guilderland School District came together to help inform the Guilderland community of the value of keeping Altamont Elementary School open, to learn about the district plan to consider closing other schools, and to encourage the school district to think of alternative ways
