GUILDERLAND — Tuesday, for four minutes of the boys’ lacrosse contest at Niskayuna, the Guilderland Dutchmen looked marvelous.

Unfortunately for the Dutchmen, it was the only good four minutes of offense they played.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team opened its season last week with two wins against two of the top teams in the state.

The Lady Dutch beat Section II rival Niskayuna, 14-5, in a contest played at Union College.

In their first game of the season on Tuesday, the Dutchmen scored seven runs and followed the strong pitching of senior C.J. Sohl to beat Albany, 7-1.

Merlis, Moeller win 14th Rabbit Ramble

GUILDERLAND — The 14th Annual Rabbit Ramble Four-Mile Charity Run and Walk took place on March 22 at Guilderland High School.

GUILDERLAND — It was the first game of the season, and it looked like it for the Guilderland boys’ lacrosse team.

VOORHEESVILLE — Unlike many baseball teams in the area, the Voorheesville baseball team got on the diamond for a pair of games last week.

The Blackbirds won both non-league contests and are looking forward to having a good season.

BERNE — The Berne-Knox-Westerlo baseball team is looking to make a lot of noise this season.

With an experienced and athletic group of players returning, the Bulldogs will be tough to beat in the Southern Division of the Western Athletic Conference.

BERNE — The Berne-Knox-Westerlo track team is continuing to expand in both participants and athletic quality, even with changes at the top of the program.
