HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO LEARN ABOUT TRACTORS

A tractor school is to be held in the Masonic hall at Altamont on Dec. 20 and 21. C. J. Hurst & Sons, L. H. C. dealers, are furnishing a tractor and other equipment to be used at this school.

This is a rare opportunity for tractor owners and all who are interested in farm power. You will get some valuable first-hand information on tractors. A tractor is not a complicated machine but there are a great many more things to know about a tractor than some of the ordinary farm machines. If the owner is to keep the tractor running properly he should understand it thoroughly. It is very important that all tractors are kept in good condition, especially is that true this year.

The tractor school will be absolutely free to all who care to attend.

RED CROSS CHRISTMAS ROLL CALL NEXT WEEK

CAMPAIGN TO ENROLL EVERY AMERICAN WILL CONTINUE UNTIL DECEMBER 23.

Every Red Cross unit in Albany county is ready to take the Christmas Roll Call to enroll every resident in the Red Cross beginning Dec. 16.

Work in Albany county will be conducted largely by a legion of women workers, who will make a house to house canvass. “No one will be missed and every one will be given an opportunity to answer ‘present’ when the roll is called,” said George W. Van Slyke, county general chairman. “Dollar memberships will be accepted from every person in Albany county. Every soldier and sailor from Albany county will be cared for and watched over by the Red Cross until he is returned to civil life,” he said.

VILLAGE NOTES.

— The box social given by the Eveready class of the Reformed Sunday school at Enterprise hall last Friday evening, proved a very pleasant affair. Prizes which were given for the two best trimmed boxes were awarded to Miss Marion Passage and Miss Clara Wood. The receipts of the evening amounted to nearly $12.

— The auction sale of Frank Barber will be held at his residence on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Besides selling all his property consisting of horse, farming tools, wagons, sleighs and machinery, he will also offer for sale the home on Sand street. Terms will be made known on day of sale.
