To the Editor:

This letter is in regard to the “A Salute to our Lifesaving Volunteers 2016” section of the Nov. 3, 2016 edition of The Altamont Enterprise.

There was a glaring omission of William R. Seim from the list of Life Members for the Westmere Fire Department Inc.  William has been a member of the department since he was 21 years old. He has now been a member for 65 years and is the oldest living member.

Over these years, he has been very active in the Westmere Fire Department by responding to fire calls, attending meetings, participating in fire-department dinners, marching in parades, and attending the annual firemen’s conferences.

His enthusiasm for being a firefighter is very evident because wherever he goes he is proud to announce he is a member of the Westmere Fire Department.  He even had his wedding reception at the Westmere firehouse.

We hope the Westmere Fire Department recognizes the dedicated service of its faithful Life Member William R. Seim.
