Why do ICE officers wear masks?

To the Editor:

Why do Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) law enforcement officers wear identity-concealing masks in the performance of their immigration law enforcement duties? [“Editorial: Local police officers have faces, presence, are part of a community,” The Altamont Enterprise, March 2, 2026]

Because this year, for example, a New York state man pleaded “”guilty to posting threat toward wife of Georgia ICE officer on Instagram.”

Why do left-wing nuts threaten the families of U.S. law enforcement officers?
