STATE OF NEW YORK DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND MARKETS 10B Airline Drive ALBANY, NY  12235  NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF SOUND  AGRICULTURAL PRACTICE OPINION NUMBER 20-1  TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:  PLEASE TAKE NOTICE pursuant to Section 308(2) of the Agriculture and Markets Law that on November 2, 2020, Commissioner Richard Ball issued an amended opinion pursuant to Section 308 of said Law finding that the practice conducted on West Wind Acres Farm, located at 144 Beebe Road Knox, New York, associated with the use of livestock guardian dogs to protect pasture raised poultry and livestock, is sound.    PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that as provided in Section 308(2) of the Agriculture and Markets Law, the opinion shall be final unless within thirty (30) days after publication of this notice a person affected by the opinion institutes a proceeding to review it in the manner provided by Article 78 of the Civil Practice Law and Rules.  A copy of the opinion may be obtained from the Department’s web site.  The opinion may be acquired from the following link:  https://agriculture.ny.gov/land-and-water/sound-agricultural-practice-op....  See reference to Opinion Number 20-1.

Take notice, the Town of Westerlo Comprehensive Plan Committee will meet on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 and again on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 7 PM at the Richard Rapp Municipal Building (Town Hall) 933 County 401, Westerlo NY as well as via Zoom.  Please note the December 2nd and December 9th meetings are a change from the regularly scheduled 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month.  The meetings are open to public attendance in accordance with CDC guidelines, Zoom information for each meeting can be found on the Town of Westerlo website:  townofwesterlony.com

FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Public Hearing Meeting of  the Town Board of the Town of Knox will be held at the Town Hall at 7:00 p.m.  on the 19th day of November, 2020 and that at such hearing any person may be  heard in favor or against the Preliminary Budget as complied or for or against  any item or items therein contained.

Notice of Annual Election 

Berne Fire District and Knox, New York 

On December 8, 2020 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Berne Fire District will  take place on December 8, 2020, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the  Berne Fire House located at 30 Canaday Hill Road, Berne, New York, for the purpose of  electing one Commissioner for a five (5) year term commencing January 1, 2021 and  ending December 31, 2025 and electing one Treasurer for a three (3) year term  commencing January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2023. Candidate petitions are  required and can be obtained from the Secretary of the Berne Fire District. All voters  registered with the Albany County Board of Elections on or before November 16, 2020,  shall be eligible to vote. 

Absentee ballot applications may be obtained from the Secretary of the Berne Fire  District. Please call Manuel Mosbey at 518-872-0847 to obtain an application for an  absentee ballot. If the absentee ballot application is to be mailed, applications  requests are due to the Secretary on or before December 1, 2020. Applications for  absentee ballots to be delivered personally are due to the Secretary on or before  December 7, 2020
