William F. Engel Jr.

William F. Engel Jr. of Summit, New York and Toms River, New Jersey, served in the Navy for six years and worked as an auto mechanic.

He “went to rest with the Lord” on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, his family wrote in a tribute. He was 74.

Mr. Engel was born on July 22, 1941, to the late Mary Louise and William F. Engel. After graduating from Albany High School, he served in the Navy from 1959 to 1965. After his discharge, Mr. Engel completed an auto mechanics course and worked at Red Star Freight Line, NIMCO and ARC of Bergen County, New Jersey.

Mr. Engel is survived by his wife, Nancy Rollenhagen Engel; his daughter, Lisa Christine Engel; two sons, Howard and William F. Engel III; and six grandchildren.

Services were held at Rock Road Chapel in Berne, on Saturday. Arrangements were by the Fredendall Funeral Home of Altamont. Online condolences may be made at www.fredendallfuneralhome.com.
