DELANSON

— Word has been received here that Mrs. B. S. Pettit, who recently left for Bradenton, Fla., arrived safely and that her husband and son, Leland, who left here by auto, Monday morning, September 28, arrived in Bradentown the following Saturday night at 10:30. The last lap of the journey, which was made Saturday, began at 5:45 o’clock at a point in the state of Georgia and ended at Bradentown at 10:30, after having covered on that day a distance of 372 miles. They found some very good roads, also some very poor ones. Mr. Pettit and son made the trip in a Chevrolet touring car four-ninety model and with the exception of Saturday did not drive any day later than 6:45 p.m. The number of miles covered from Delanson to Brandentown was a little over sixteen hundred miles.

— One night last week, Mrs. A. Henlon of Delanson R. D., slipped in some unknown manner on a rug on the porch and fell off the porch, severely straining the muscles of her left leg, but she is reported at present to be very much improved. She had the care of a nurse, Mrs. Victoria Wood, who was able to make her comfortable.

— William Waddell of Delanson R. D. 2, cousin of Mrs. E. B. Billings, met with a painful accident, one day last week, when he and his hired men were busy with wire fencing along the highway and in some way an auto driving by, caught the wire and threw Mr. Waddell to the ground and cut his right arm in a frightful manner. He was rushed to the Amsterdam hospital, where it took a long time to get it in shape.

Preceding the bride into the meeting house were her bridesmaids; and the matrons of honor, Mrs. S. Wynne Keever of George School, Pa., and Mrs. Charles Cadwallader of Ridley Park, Pa., both sisters of the bride.

The ushers were S. Wynne Keever of George School, Pa., Galen White of Delanson, James Patterson of Philadelphia, and Elmer Buckley of Germantown, Pa. The best man was Joseph M. Fronefield, 3rd, of Berwyn, Pa., a brother of the groom.

His marriage to Miss Washburn was the result of a romance which began when he acted as best man at the marriage of the bride’s sister, Miss Miriam Washburn, to S. Wynne Keever of George School, Pa. At this wedding the girl who was later to be his bride attended her sister as maid of honor.
