Herman joins Albany Med

David L. Herman, M.D., a primary care physician who specializes in treating HIV, AIDS, and hepatitis C, has joined Albany Medical Center’s Department of Internal Medicine and been appointed assistant professor of medicine at Albany Medical College.

Herman, who lives in Bethlehem, comes to Albany Med from Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and has previously served patients in the Capital Region at Albany Medical Center, the Whitney M. Young Health Center. and Community Health Plan in Latham.

An experienced internal medicine physician with a holistic approach to care, Herman treated highly complex patients for a wide range of diseases and conditions. In addition to specializing in HIV and AIDS medicine, he is skilled in treating hepatitis C mono-infected patients and those with substance-abuse issues. He is credentialed in the management of Suboxone for opiate abatement.

Herman enjoys working with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and is well-suited to provide care to those in the LGBTQ community, according to a release from Albany Medical Center.

He received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his residency in internal medicine at Albany Medical College.

He lives with his wife in Bethlehem.
