Guilderland’s historic figures will come to life on Sunday

GUILDERLAND CENTER — The town committee charged with celebrating the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution is holding a Spirit Walk, in which costumed figures will roam the Guilderland Cemetery.

The cemetery is located on Osborne Road in Guilderland Center and the event will run from 3 to 5 p.m on Sunday, Oct. 5.

Attendees at the free event will learn about some of the people buried there — from colonial times to the modern era.

There will be cider and donuts at the cemetery’s historic cobblestone vault as well.

Parking for people with handicaps will be at the cemetery itself, while parking for all others will be along Stitt Road. There is a short path into the cemetery from Stitt Road to the vault.

Attendees should wear footwear appropriate for uneven ground and should note that there are no bathrooms available on the premises.
