ALTAMONT —  A pair of Severson Avenue residents were transported to the hospital following a Thursday morning fire that caused severe damage to their bungalow-style home. 

Altamont Fire Department Chief Paul Miller said both residents of 100 Severson Ave. had been transported but that he was unsure about the extent of their injuries. 

Miller said the cause of the fire was under investigation. 

State fire investigators were on the scene late Thursday morning to determine the cause of the blaze.
