Remembering Dr. Anna Perkins: Finin will sign his book on September 30

To the Editor:

The Westerlo Historical Society will be hosting a “Meet & Greet” with Jerry Finin, author of “A Good and Noble Thing: The Pioneering Life and Service of Anna Ward Perkins, M.D.,” on Sunday, Sept. 30, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Westerlo Town Hall at 933 Route 401.

During this event, Mr. Finin and some special guests will discuss not only the book but also their experiences with our beloved long-time small-town doctor, Anna Ward Perkins. Books will be on sale and time will be reserved for Mr. Finin to sign copies. Don’t miss this opportunity to get a fascinating piece of history!

There will also be pictures, artifacts, communications, and memorabilia. One special item will be the 1956 Corvette that Doctor Perkins and her companion, Anna Hannay, “the two Annas,” used on their weekend excursions in the Helderbergs, exploring nature.

Come share your thoughts and memories of this wonderful lady and meet the author who put together for us the tale of her noble life.  We look forward to seeing you!
