An Evening at the Orchard 2016. VCSF celebrates 17 years of giving back to the community.

To the Editor:

The Voorheesville Community & School Foundation is very excited about the past year and the work we’ve been able to do for the Voorheesville and town of New Scotland community and schools with generous help of our community and business donors.

Among other wins, VCSF partnered with the village of Voorheesville to help plan and provide major financial support for the stunning pavilion at our end of the Helderberg Hudson rail trail. We joined the team organizing the village’s first Family Bicycling Day, providing financial support, volunteer energy, and insurance coverage. We supported fundraising efforts for the amazing Hilton Barn move and Village Green Clean Day.

Thanks to our donors, we also were able to provide grants to support projects such as establishing a US First Robotics Club at Voorheesville’s high school, purchasing a new sign for Voorheesville Elementary School, sending middle school students to a Character Education Youth Leadership Summit, and staging theater productions at our schools and the Helderberg Theater Festival.

On Friday, Oct. 21, the Voorheesville Community & School Foundation will celebrate 17 years of giving back to our local community at our major fundraising event: An Evening at the Orchard 2016. This year’s event, featuring a “Jeans and Jerseys” theme, will be held at the Pavilion at Orchard Creek and will feature tailgate-style appetizers, stadium-pleasing dinner selections, complimentary wine and beer, live music from the Chris Dukes band, and silent and live auctions. It promises to be a great time!

Our community’s support of this event is critical to the continuation of VCSF’s mission to enhance educational, cultural, athletic, and organizational opportunities for students and community members residing in the village of Voorheesville, the town of New Scotland, and within the Voorheesville Central School District.

Get ready to touchdown with live music, an ultimate auction, and a champion cause! Event tickets are $60 per person. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit our newly designed website at vcsfoundation.com.
