I find it reprehensible the way Supervisor Lefkaditis treats me like his employee

To the Editor:

As the Knox town clerk, it is my responsibility to keep the minutes for all town board meetings. I take this responsibility very seriously and have always done my best to submit minutes that accurately represent the meetings.

However, recently Supervisor Vasilios Lefkaditis disagreed with minutes that I submitted and, after his repeated efforts to persuade me to change them, I refused. In response, he chose to treat me in a manner that I found patronizing, condescending, and completely unprofessional at the Sept. 13 town board meeting.

As a professional woman, I find it reprehensible the way Supervisor Lefkaditis treats me like his employee and not the elected official that I am.  I campaigned to be town clerk to help and serve the people of my town, not to serve anyone’s personal agenda.

As a community, we teach our children that bullying is unacceptable and to stand up to those who bully.  As adults, especially those in leadership roles, we need to set that example.
