Giant Rummage Sale soon. Historic Bethlehem grange gets new roof
To the Editor:
Bethlehem Grange 137 wishes to thank all of our Altamont Enterprise supporters of our new roof project. It should be installed within the next two weeks. Your support has been terrific!
To continue to safeguard this historic building, we need to continue our fundraisers. In the past three years, we have installed a new fire escape, done numerous roof repairs, replaced an ancient and very cost-inefficient oil furnace with a new gas furnace and added central air-conditioning, to encourage rental of our community space.
We've also added insulation wherever possible, to contain our costs and carbon footprint; replaced an non-working freezer; and added several large loads of crushed stone to our parking lot, filling the many ruts, so that no one would get hurt.
Your continued support means a lot to us and the community. Please support our Giant Rummage Sale on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9 and 10 and Sept. 16 and 17, indoors and outdoors.
Donations also appreciated. To arrange delivery or pickup of items, please call Caroline Wirth at 424-4953, Jo Downey at 767-2985, or me at 421-1384.
Thank you for your assistance!
Carol Carpenter, master
