What is this? Gizmo perplexes at the Knox dump

This item is at the Knox transfer station and has been an object of curiosity for a while.

Perhaps a request for identification in one of your issues would be interesting to your readership.

My guess is that one of the “old men of the mountain” will know what it is, either that or one of their wives will.
