Learn about the future of farming in Knox

To the Editor:

Agriculture has long been an integral part of life in Knox. On Saturday, June 17, from 2 to 4 p.m., the Knox Historical Society will be paying tribute to our stalwart forebears who worked the soil by demonstrating the use of some of the old tools in our collection.

We will also be featuring local farmer, Ken Saddlemire, speaking on modern farming and the wide variety of agricultural pursuits currently represented in Knox. We are also pleased to be joined by two students in the agriculture studies program at Berne-Knox-Westerlo, who will be discussing what farming in the future might look like.

We hope you will join us at the Saddlemire Homestead, 2190 Berne-Altamont Road (Route 156) on Saturday for “Farming in Knox: Past, Present, and Future.” Tour our museum and re-visit early life in the pillbox capital of the world! This program is part of the New York State Path Through History weekend.
