Help keep Woodlawn Cemetery looking nice

To the Editor:

This year, Memorial Day will be observed on Monday, May 26. Many family members and friends will come to the Woodlawn Cemetery in Berne to visit their loved one’s final resting spot and perhaps put flowers upon their graves.

When visiting the graves of our loved ones, we like to see that the area is mowed, trimmed, and free from any debris.

Have you considered who does this and how it is paid for?

We are having a clean-up day for volunteers on May 2, from 9 a.m. till noon.

Even with volunteers, it still takes a good amount of money to keep the cemetery looking nice. Part of honoring the memory of our loved ones is helping with the funding for the physical upkeep of Woodlawn.

Monetary contributions are vital for the year-to-year upkeep of Woodlawn. Won’t you consider making a memorial contribution in the name of your loved one to help maintain this beautiful rural cemetery?

The Woodlawn Cemetery Board members would like to thank you in advance for your support. Donations make all the difference and can be mailed to Woodlawn Cemetery, 2108 Switzkill Rd., Berne, NY 12023
