  • Super says ADUs will be ‘very near the top’ for upcoming code changes

    “We’ve been contacted by multiple residents interested in ADUs,” Kenneth Kovalchik, the town’s planner, told the board. “But it’s just we’ve got to get our code updated to match what people want to do.”

  • Altamont’s 2026-27 budget: spending flat, taxes up

    Altamont’s proposed tax rate for next year would rise to $2.29 per $1,000 of assessed value, up from $2.24 per $1,000 this year — a five-cent increase.

  • Albany County won’t aid ICE

    Jeffrey Kuhn, a Democrat representing Delmar and Glenmont who sponsored the resolution, said, “The Trump administration has mandated that ICE and Border Patrol arrest at least 3,000 immigrants a day …. ICE has cut the classes that teach the Constitution, our legal system, firearms training, the use of force, lawful arrests, proper detention, and the limits of officers’ authority.”
