ALTAMONT — Caroline E. Hildenbrand, whom her family said will be remembered for her heart of gold, died on Friday, May 13, 2016, at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 56.

She was born in Kingston, New York to the late Charles and Loraine Lasher. She was one of 10 children.

Mrs. Hildenbrand graduated from Kingston High School in 1977. She worked for several businesses in the Kingston area over the years.

“She always took care of others before herself,” her family wrote in a tribute. “In 1989, she married the love of her life, Robert E. Hildenbrand.”

Together, they moved to Altamont about five years ago.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Hildenbrand; her daughter Kayla Marie Hildenbrand and John Wolfe; her grandchildren, Bryson Lee and Nevaeh Faith Wolf; her siblings, Doreen Hornyak, Peter Lasher, Patricia Bouton, Lori Long, Janet Lasher, Debbie Morris, and Mark Lasher; and several nieces and nephews.

Her sisters Charlene Johnson and Jeanie Lasher died before her.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 19, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main St. in Altamont, with a service to follow at 10 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.fredendallfuneralhome.com. Interment will be at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
