Join us for fun in the Westerlo park as we support Amelia

To the Editor:
I am writing this to let the community know we are hosting a fundraiser at the Westerlo Town Park to benefit 6-year-old Amelia Manetta. Amelia has osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.

In January, Amelia had to have her arm amputated to help contain the cancer. She is still undergoing chemo treatments regularly.

Amelia still smiles and runs and plays as a 6-year-old should. She has two younger sisters so as you can imagine there is a rather hard financial hardship that comes for this young yet strong and amazing family.

This fundraiser is to help them through this trying time and get them through to some kind of normalcy.

Please join us on May 21 from noon to 5 p.m.

There will be a DJ, face-painting, and cookie-decorating. The Albany County Sheriff’s Office will do a police dog demonstration. There will also be fire apparatus, a huge raffle (the drawing starts at 4 p.m.) along with really fun items for auction.

We will also have a food truck with some hot dogs, hamburgers, and more. Please note that cash is the preferred payment for all items. The raffles are 25 tickets for 20. All proceeds will go to the Manetta family.

If you have any questions, call me, Amie Burnside, at 518-396-8787.
