Welcome Spring with Petals, Threads, and Leaves

On May 18 and 19, The Schoharie Valley Garden Club and the Schoharie Valley Piecemakers Quilt Guild will present a joint Flower and Quilt Show, “Welcome Spring with Petals, Threads, and Leaves,” at the Schoharie Library.

The Garden Club will decorate the library with flower arrangements, coordinating with spring-inspired quilted wall hangings and accessories displayed by the Piecemakers. The public is invited to visit during library hours, and even to take prom pictures or other special photos in this unique and beautiful venue.

On Friday, May 18, at 3:30 p.m., the library will offer the opportunity to make a fabric-covered tabletop planter. This project will combine fabric piecing and gardening to transform a can into a pretty pot of flowers or herbs. All materials will be provided.

On Saturday, May 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a Spring Tea will be held at the library. In addition to tea and lemonade, a variety of cookies and other home-baked treats will be served. Guests are welcome to bring something of their own, if they wish, or simply to come and enjoy what is provided. This is a wonderful time to enjoy good food and interesting conversation surrounded by quilts and flowers.

The Flower and Quilt Show, Make a Fabric Planter, and Spring Tea are free and open to people of all ages. Library hours during the show are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Schoharie Library is located at 103 Knower Ave. in Schoharie.
