Free family-friendly festival set for July 17 along the rail trail
DELMAR — The third annual Biking, Burgers and Beverages celebration is set to roll on July 17, rain or shine.
It will run from 4 to 7 p.m. along the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail.
The free event is hosted by the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce.
The family-friendly festival will span the rail trail between the Blanchard-Currey American Legion Post 1040 and the intersection of Adams Street and Hudson Avenue.
Festival-goers may walk or cycle along the trail. Motorized bikes and scooters are not permitted.
Biking safety education will be provided and kids can test their biking skills on a course. The Flow Riders will give a mountain-bike demonstration.
DJ Nate Derucher will provide music and Alphie, the mascot for the Albany FireWolves, will make an appearance. There will be games and activities, including a scavenger hunt.
The trail will be lined with vendors, information booths, artists, and food trucks. Guests are encouraged to bring cash, as some vendors may not accept credit cards.
Food may be purchased from the Piece of Heaven food truck and the Kona Ice truck, as well as grilled burgers and hot dogs at the American Legion Hall.
Maps of the event will be available digitally ahead of the event and in print at the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce tables.
