Peyton Del Vecchio

— What are your plans after graduation?

Back in February, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and after graduation I will be leaving for basic training.

— What career or kind of work are you pursuing?

I am pursuing a career in logistics, supply, or financial management within the Marine Corps.

— What are you most excited about?

I am most excited about meeting new people and exploring new places.

— What are you most nervous about?

I am most nervous about leaving my family. I am going to miss them a lot.

— How has BKW shaped you?

BKW has shaped me by helping me gain responsibility. Attending a small school like BKW has taught me how to form and maintain good relationships.

— What advice do you have for younger students?

My advice for younger students is to really work on time-management skills. Turning assignments in on time can help you earn a lot of points.

— How will you spend the summer?

I will be spending the summer at boot camp located on Parris Island, North Carolina.

Salutatorian

Elise Lendrum

— What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I plan to attend SUNY Plattsburgh and obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing.

— What career or kind of work are you pursuing?

My end goal is to be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. I would love to watch and play a role in surgeries in and the operating room.

— What are you most excited about?

Although I have loved being a part of the close-knit small school, I am excited to meet new people and live in an area that is so different from the rural district I live in now.

— What are you most nervous about?

I am most nervous about being homesick.

— How has BKW shaped you?

Throughout my years at BKW, I have received support from each of my teachers and I have been able to keep in touch with them through my time at the school. BKW has provided me with countless opportunities such as the chance to attend the New Visions Health Careers program, which helped me figure out what I wanted to do in the future.

— What advice do you have for younger students?

I advise younger students to not be scared to do things their own way even if that is not the way everyone else does it. They have to put themselves first and do what's best for their own success and well being.

— How will you spend the summer?

This summer, I plan to spend time with my family and work at the family farm and car dealership.
