Learn about the Rapp Road community

An important chapter in our area’s African-American history, “The History and Importance of the Rapp Road Community,” will be the Thursday, May 17, program at the meeting of the Guilderland Historical Society.

Third-generation descendants Stephanie Woodward and Beverly Bardequez will be telling the story of how the settlement came to be; the challenges it has faced from the loss of land to road construction and nearby development; and the recognition of its importance with its listing as both a New York State and National Historic District.

We invite the public to join us for this free program and social hour beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Mynderse-Frederick House at 451 Route 146 in Guilderland Center. For information, call 518-861-8582.
