Sisson-Chrysler offers consistency and stability

To the Editor:

I am writing of my support for the re-election of Lillian Sisson-Chrysler to the Berne-Knox-Westerlo School Board.

As a previous school board member, I had the opportunity to work with Lillian as our terms on the board overlapped. During those years and then some, I have watched our board develop into a strong functioning team, offering stability and consistency to our school and community due in large part to members like Lillian.

A board operates best when you have open, honest discussions that result in collaboration, compromise, and joint resolution. Lillian has the attitude and personality that has allowed her to speak up for what she feels is the best direction to take, while still being open to opposing discussion. All this while always bearing in mind; it’s not what she wants or what they want, but rather, what will benefit our children and community the best!

I will not speak against another candidate or candidates, as I truly believe they all have the best intentions for our children, our school, and our community. I do believe the current school board is one of the best we’ve had and — as with a winning team that’s playing extremely well, or an engine that’s running right — you don’t replace a component just for the sake of replacing: “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it!”
