An ax to grind?

To the Editor:

First and foremost, let me state I do not know Thomas Spargo of East Berne, but every time his name appears in The Altamont Enterprise, it is preceded by “former Supreme Court justice and convicted felon.”

Does this really have anything to do with the accompanying articles? Am I missing something? Did Spargo serve his time or jump bail?

Is “convicted felon” Mr. Spargo’s official title or does someone at The Enterprise have an ax to grind?
